Learn and be Curious

We are never done learning and always seek to improve ourselves. We are humble enough to know we can learn from every situation, and actively question to understand and think critically. We relentlessly seek out experiences that sharpen our skills and expose ourselves to new ideas.

Transparency

We build trust by being honest and authentic. Our default is to share, leading to open debate, trust, and decisions based on data, not political behaviour. We respectfully challenge decisions when we disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable, stressful or exhausting.

Respect

We foster friendly, patient, and conscientious work environments where everyone has the freedom to be their whole selves. We treat everyone with dignity, and fairness. We give proper credit to others, and stand up for each other in the face of resistance or challenge.

Customer Obsessed

We strive to provide an outstanding customer experience - they are at the heart of every BCAA decision. We work tirelessly to earn and keep customer trust. We correct problems promptly and undefensively. We understand customers and take a proactive approach to meeting their needs in an effective and timely manner.

Ownership and Accountability

We accept accountability for our own actions and those of colleagues. We take ownership, prioritize work that supports our strategy, and deliver on what we promise. We listen with empathy, and take accountability for delivering the results needed.

Highly Aligned, Loosely Coupled

We trust our teams to do what they think is best for BCAA, giving them lots of freedom, power, and information in support of their decisions. We spend lots of time debating strategy together, and then trust each other to execute on tactics without prior approvals. Leaders set clear context so that others have the right information to make great decisions.

Passion

We love what we do and are proud of what we achieve. We translate the BCAA mission and beliefs into day- to-day activities, and motivate others to do the same. We wholeheartedly believe in the BCAA’s purpose and mission, and work hard everyday to support it.

One Team

We work together and are aligned on objectives. We understand how our work contributes to BCAA’s priorities. We encourage diversity of thinking and inspire each other. We collaborate, listen, contribute, and trust, knowing that we are stronger together.

Courageous

We have high ambitions; make decisions even when it’s difficult. We speak up when we see an opportunity to improve. We acknowledge that we don’t have all the answers, but are willing to take risks. We try new things, and if we fail, this is part of our learning – it helps us improve and innovate.

Integrity

We are open and fair with each other, our customers, and anyone with whom we do business. We make decisions and act as if our personal reputations were at stake, and uphold high ethical standards.

Adaptable

We are flexible in how we work and easily embrace change. We understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives. We are not tied to procedure, rather we do what we think is best to meet any given situation.

Innovative

We continuously look ahead and think of new ways to serve and inspire our customers and each other. We are willing to fail and keep learning, experiment often, think big and invent the future.
