Who is Eligible?

You are eligible for Travel Medical Insurance coverage if:

1. You have not reached the age of 70 years at the time of the effective date of the Policy;

2. You are a Canadian Resident;

3. You are a BCTF member or employee, the spouse of a BCTF member or employee; or their dependant children 21 years of age or under (or up to 25 years of age if a full time student)

4. You are actively at work with you employer. If you are a retired teacher, you are not eligible to purchase this insurance;

5. You are named in the application/declaration;

6. The information provided by you at the time of the application/declaration is true and accurate;

7. You are not travelling against a physicians advice or you have not been diagnosed with a terminal condition.

Please note that retired BCTF members are not currently eligible for the BCTF Travel Medical Insurance package. Retired BCTF members can purchase regular Travel Medical Insurance through BCAA. For more information on eligibility, please refer to the BCTF Advantage Policy Wording Booklet.
