What it is

It provides reimbursement of unexpected travel costs due to a covered risk if your travel plans are cancelled prior to departure or disrupted after your trip has begun.

Covered risks include sickness, injury or death of you, your travelling companion or one of your immediate family members, Canadian government travel warning advising not to travel to your destination, missed connections and much more. Eligible expenses include non-refundable pre-paid expenses, such as airline tickets and cancellation penalties.
