BCAA “Connections” Contest Official Rules and Regulations
Who can enter:
BCAA "Connections" Contest (the "Contest") is open to all legal residents of British Columbia who have reached 19 years or older by October 27, 2016, except employees of British Columbia Automobile Association ("BCAA") and family members with whom BCAA employees are domiciled, employees and family members of BCAA advertising and promotional agencies and Consumer-Response Marketing (the "Contest Administrator") hereafter collectively referred to as ("Excluded Participants").
No Purchase Necessary. The overall Contest begins October 27, 2016 at 9:00:00 am PT and closes on September 30, 2017 at 7:59:59 AM PT. There are a total of eleven (11) secondary prize Contest Periods, the first of which begins October 27, 2016 at 9:00:00 AM PT and ends at 7:59:59 PM PT on November 30, 2016 followed by ten (10) consecutive Contest Periods commencing at 00:00:01AM on December 1, 2016 and ending on the last day of December, 2016 at 7:59:59 PM PT, then continuing in like fashion each calendar month until the final month ending September 30, 2017 at 7:59:59 PM PT ("Close Dates").
There are three (3) methods of entry during the Contest Periods:
- by completing an entry form available at community events and depositing the form the accompanying ballot box.
- by visiting a service location where a BCAA agent will obtain information such as name, address, current email address, home and car/s insurance expiry dates. Entrants will be asked if they would like to "opt in"* to receive future promotional information from BCAA.
- by clicking on the Contest link on the BCAA.COM website. The entrant will be asked to provide information such as name, address, current email address, home and car's insurance expiry dates. Entrants will be asked if they would like to "opt in"* to receive future promotional information from BCAA.
*Individuals may opt out via an "unsubscribe" or "opt out" link embedded in BCAA communications.
BCAA will not be responsible for or have any liability resulting from entries which are mutilated, delayed, lost, stolen, or misdirected. Mechanically reproduced entry forms will not be eligible to win.
There is one (1) Grand Prize to be won consisting of a Toyota Prius c (Standard package Automatic Transmission) with an approximate retail value of $30,600 including destination/ freight charges, air-conditioning tax and applicable sales taxes and $1,000 towards custom racking through rack attack.
There are also eleven (11) two hundred ($200) BCAA partner gift cards available to be won as secondary prizes. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following general conditions apply to the Grand Prize and Secondary Prizes : (i) prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as otherwise permitted by BCAA, in its sole discretion); (ii) BCAA reserves the right to substitute the Grand Prize or a component thereof for any reason with a prize or a prize component of equal or greater value including without limitation, but solely at BCAA's sole discretion, a cash award; (iii) colour and other specifics of the Grand prize will be at the sole and absolute discretion of the BCAA; (iv) manufacturer's warranty applies to the Grand Prize; (v) upon notification, Grand Prize winner will be required to personally take delivery of the Grand Prize from either a BCAA Service Location or a Toyota dealership within British Columbia reasonably closest to the Grand Prize winner's place of residence in BC as determined by BCAA, in its sole and absolute discretion, and present adequate personal government issued photo identification; (vi) Grand Prize will not be released unless and until the Grand Prize winner first shows proof of having a valid driver's license in the province/territory in which he/she resides and proof of satisfactory insurance; (vii) Grand Prize winner is solely responsible for all expenses that are not specifically included in the Grand Prize description above; including, but not limited to; registration and license fees, insurance, additional accessories and all other costs associated with any upgrade or option packages that the Grand Prize winner may request (and that may be permitted by BCAA in its sole and absolute discretion), and any and all costs associated with obtaining a valid driver's license, license plates, registration, insurance and/or fuel/gas.
How to win:
The Contest Administrator will be responsible for administering the assigned prizes for this Contest. A random draw for the secondary prizes will be held by the Contest Administrator on or about the 15th of the month following each of the secondary prize Contest Periods, commencing December 15, 2016. A random draw will be held on or about October 15, 2017 for the Grand Prize. To select one (1) entry from all eligible entries received in accordance with the "To Enter" section of these rules to choose one (1) selected entrant for the Grand Prize.
The random draw for the Secondary Prizes will select one (1) entriy for all eligible entries received in accordance with the "To Enter" section of these rules, to choose one (1) selected entrants for the respective Secondary Prize Contest Period. Contest entrants are only eligible to win one Secondary Prize for the overall Contest however are eligible to win the Grand Prize.
Chances of winning a Secondary or Grand Prize will be dependent upon the number of eligible entries received by BCAA by each Contest closing date as described in the "To Enter" section of these rules.
The Contest Administrator will contact each selected entrant by telephone at the phone number provided at time of entry and/or email if provided. If the Contest Administrator makes three (3) unsuccessful attempts within a 72 hour period to contact the selected entrant(s), the Contest Administrator, despite its customary diligent efforts, reserves the right to disqualify that selected entrant(s) for the corresponding prize.
Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must:
- Correctly answer a time limited mathematical skill-testing question. Failure to correctly answer that skill-testing question will mean that the selected entrant will be disqualified, and
- Sign a winner's Affidavit and Liability/Publicity Release form, agreeing to the use of his/her name, address (city only), photograph, voice and/or statements without compensation other than the prize offered. Failure to sign these forms will result in the selected entrant being disqualified.
By entering the Contest, all entrants agree to be bound by the rules of the Contest. All decisions of the Contest Administrator with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final. All legal residents of British Columbia are eligible to win, providing they are over the age of majority on October 27, 2016, have conformed with the Contest rules and providing that they are not Excluded Participants. This Contest shall be subject to and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
