"SMART HOME PROTECTION KIT" CONTEST
Official Contest Rules and Regulations
The "Smart Home Protection Kit" contest (the “Contest”) begins October 26, 2017 and ends on the close of business on October 29, 2017 (the “Entry Period”).
WHO CAN ENTER:
The Contest is open to residents of British Columbia who are at least 19 years of age on Thursday, October 26, 2017, excluding employees of British Columbia Automobile Association ("BCAA"), its advertising and promotional agencies and family members with whom these employees are domiciled, and employees of Market Place Events. This contest is being promoted by BCAA, 4567 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC V5G 4T1, 604-268-5500.
No purchase necessary. To be entered into the Contest, provide your name, address, email, if applicable, BCAA Membership number to BCAA by completing a paper ballot or an online entry ballot at www.bcaa.com/homeshowcontest or using the electronic tablets at the BCAA booth at the Vancouver Fall Home Show held at the Vancouver Convention Centre October 26-29, 2017. You will be provided up to an additional entry ballot if you provide your car insurance expiry date and an additional entry ballot if you provide your home insurance expiry date on the paper ballot or online entry ballot.
All ballot entries must be received during the Entry Period in order to be eligible for the Contest. Any entry ballot received after the Entry Period will be void.
You will be provided with one additional entry ballot if you also provide your car insurance
ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF ENTRY:
In addition to the method of entry detailed above, an eligible participant may also enter the Contest by sending up to three (3) 3 inch by 5 inch index cards with their name, email address and mailing address printed on one side of the card to BCAA at BCAA, 4567 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC V5G 4T1, Attn: Smart Home Protection Kit Contest Entry. Provided that this card is actually received by the Sponsor during Entry Period , each card will function as (1) entry ballot in the Contest.
There is a limit of three (3) entry ballots per person. Subsequent entries by the same person or using the same e-mail address are invalid and will be disqualified. Any attempts made by the same person to submit more than three (3) entry ballots will be void and not be counted.
PRIVACY & COMMUNICATIONS:
Contest entrants may opt to receive emails containing news, exclusive deals and promotions about products and services offered by BCAA if they consent to receive such emails on their entry ballot. At any time, individuals may opt out of receiving such emails via an “unsubscribe” or “opt out” link embedded in a BCAA email.
There is one (1) Prize to be won consisting of (1) Smart Home Protection Kit (approximate value $1,000), which includes:

- Stainless Steel Braided Hose
- BCAA First Aid Kit

Prize(s) must be accepted as offered and cannot be exchanged, transferred, substituted or added on to in any way. BCAA reserves the right to substitute other prizes of equal or greater value if any of the prizes offered becomes unavailable for any reason.
Chances of winning will be dependent upon the number of eligible entry ballots received during the Entry Period.
SELECTION OF WINNER:
A random draw will be held at BCAA’s Home Office on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 to select one (1) potential winner of the Prize.
The selected entrants will be notified by e-mail or phone. BCAA will contact the winner(s) by telephone at the telephone number provided on the entry ballot and by email if provided on the entry ballot. If, for any reason, after 3 attempts it is not possible within a 48-hour period to contact a selected entrant(s) despite customary diligent efforts, BCAA and its agents reserve the right to disqualify that entrant(s) and randomly select another entrant(s) for the corresponding prize. Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must first correctly have answered a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question that is located on the entry ballot. Failure to correctly answer a skill-testing question will mean that the selected entrant will be disqualified.
Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must first sign a Winner’s Affidavit & Liability/Publicity Release form, confirming compliance with these Official Contest Rules and Regulations, accepting the prize as offered; acknowledging the non-responsibility of BCAA and its affiliates with respect to liability, damage, injuries, accident, loss or misfortune relating to (i) participation in the Contest or any related activity, (ii) acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize or any component thereof; and (iii) agreeing to the use of their name, address (city only), photo, voice and/or statements without compensation other than the prize offered.
At its discretion, BCAA may waive the requirement for any entrant to provide any or all of the personal information requested on the entry ballot, and may declare any such entry ballot, or an entry ballot containing incorrect information, to be an eligible entry ballot.
By entering the contest, all entrants agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations. All decisions of BCAA with respect to all aspects of this contest are final.
If for any reason in the opinion of BCAA, in its sole discretion and without notice, the contest is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, errors or other causes beyond its control, BCAA reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest including any method of entry.
BCAA is not be responsible for telephone, technical, network, online, electronic, computer hardware or software failures of any kind, misdirected, stolen, incomplete, garbled or delayed Internet/e-mail computer transmissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participants or downloading any materials in this contest, inaccurate entry information, whether caused by equipment, programming used in the Contest, human processing or otherwise, or any combination thereof; or any injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prizes, or acceptance, possession, or use or misuse of the prizes, or from participation in the Contest.
BCAA will not be responsible for or have any liability resulting from entries which are mutilated, delayed, lost, stolen or misdirected.
Finally, BCAA reserves the right to modify these Official Contest Rules and Regulations at our sole discretion and without notice without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the contest.
All Ballots become the property of BCAA. Except for the selected entrant(s), no other entrants will be notified about the results of the Contest. The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations and is void where prohibited by law. These Official Contest Rules and Regulations shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of British Columbia.
