Love prevails through an icy situation

Alana J's submission photo

It was not the day, weekend, or proposal I expected. We were having a lovely time driving up to Sparkling Hill when we hit black ice going 70k in a 110k zone. The crash is unexplainable. I am beyond grateful for all of the people that stopped to make sure we were okay, giving us blankets, water, tissue and just any support. The BCAA and Reliable Towing Services tow trucks and drivers not only helped us get out of our totalled vehicle, but they also helped us get back to Maple Ridge. I cannot explain how grateful I am.

And, while we were waiting for 911, Casey proposed. This is a day I will never forget!

If there’s any advice I can give anyone, make sure you have winter tires. Wear your seat belt. Get a BCAA Membership. And, make sure you update to a Plus Membership if you are going more than 5kms out of town. Kiss and hug your loved ones over and over. No material items matter more in the world than the people you love. Thank you, angels. Thank you for looking down on us. I am in tears. Oh, and Casey is the most amazing fiancé.
