Wildfire Resilience
Defending Against Wildfires
Wildfires are a growing threat to BC, so together with partners and British Columbians, we're helping to protect communities before, during and after wildfires. From working with FireSmart BC to help communities take meaningful wildfire mitigation action to increasing access to mental health training and resources for volunteer firefighters with the Canadian Mental Health Association BC, to raising funds that help communities strengthen wildfire resilience — we're here to build a more resilient BC.

Supporting Post Wildfire Recovery
In 2025, we planted 50,000 trees in Williams Lake, helping reforest and restore landscapes so they can thrive again. Our commitment doesn’t stop there, we’ve purchased more trees to continue this important work in the coming year.

On-the-ground wildfire protection for homeowners
BCAA Home Insurance is proud to offer the Wildfire Property Defence Program for homeowners insured with us. While proactive preparation and mitigation remain the best defence against wildfire damage to properties, this program offers an added layer of protection. When wildfires threaten an area, we have the ability to deploy a team that can perform services to a property's exterior that aim to improve its chance of surviving a wildfire.
