Show your colours and celebrate Pride Month!

Community spirit is part of our DNA here at BCAA. Across BC, our BCAA Service Locations and Auto Service Centres are excited to celebrate Pride Month with our communities. To help you celebrate as well, here’s a list of some local Pride events happening this June and throughout the summer.


Lower Mainland

Burnaby Pride Street Party

When: August 10 from 12 pm to 4 pm
Where: Jubilee Avenue between Nelson Avenue and Imperial Street
What to expect: Full afternoon of live performances, food, activities and community resources.

Fraser Valley Pride Events

When: July 13–20
Where: Abbotsford and Mission
What to expect: There are 3 events to enjoy! Choose from a variety show and dinner, pop-up art exhibit or the Out of this World Youth Dance—or all of them!

New West Pride Street Festival

When: August 17, full schedule to be announced
Where: Along Columbia Street, New Westminster
What to expect: Columbia Street will be closed to traffic and instead, will play home for entertainers, community organizations and food trucks.

Pride at the Pier

When: July 30 from 5 pm to 9 pm
Where: Shipbuilder's Square, Wallace Way at the bottom of Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver
What to expect: Hosted by Vancouver Pride Society, this is an alcohol-free and family-friendly event. Dance on the pier to local queer DJs, take in magnificent drag performances, lounge at nearby restaurants, or hit up one of the event’s craft and activity stations.

Surrey Pride Party in the Plaza

When: June 29 from 3 pm to 8 pm
Where: Central City Shopping Centre Plaza, 10153 King George Boulevard, Surrey
What to expect: There’s something for everyone with vendor booths, performers, live music, spoken word and a kid’s zone.

Vancouver Pride Society

When: July 29 to August 5
Where: Vancouver’s West End (primarily at Sunset Beach), Downtown Vancouver and North Vancouver (Pride at the Pier)
What to expect: Enjoy music, a festive atmosphere and crazy costumes. Highlights include Pride Festival at Sunset Beach and Vancouver Pride Parade (starts at noon). Save the date on Sunday, August 4 for Vancouver Pride Parade where BCAA and Evo Car Share will ‘float’ along the parade route.

White Rock’s Annual Pride Party

When: July 28 from 6:30 pm to 11 pm
Where: Elks Hall, 1469 George Street, White Rock
What to expect: Live band and performances. Includes dinner and door prizes.

Vancouver Island

Alberni Valley Pride Fest

When: July 29 from 12 pm to 4 pm
Where: Gyro Recreation Park
What to expect: All ages free event. Enjoy delicious food, fun entertainment and cool vendors. Click here for other events hosted by Alberni Valley Pride

Victoria Pride Parade and Festival

When: July 7 from 11 am to 6 pm
Where:

  • Parade (11 am to 12:30 pm): Begins at the corner of Pandora Avenue & Government Street and ends at MacDonald Park (corner of Oswego Street and Simcoe Street). Click here to see the parade route
  • Festival (12 pm to 6 pm): McDonald Park

What to expect: Start off watching over 100 colourful groups and floats go by in Victoria’s biggest parade of the year. After the parade, join thousands in MacDonald Park for the festival and enjoy 2 entertainment stages, a food court, vendors and a youth pride/kids camp area.

Interior and Northern BC

Kamloops Pride Parade

When: August 25 from 10 am to 3 pm
Where: Stuart Wood Park, 245 St Paul Street, Kamloops
What to expect: This will be the 3rd Annual Downtown Kamloops Pride Parade. Check the Kamloops Pride website for updates.

Kelowna Pride March and Festival

When: June 22 from 11 am to 4 pm
Where: City Park, 1570 Abbott Street, Kelowna

Kootenay Pride Parade

When: September 1 from 3 pm to 6 pm
Where: Parade begins at Central School and travels to downtown
What to expect: It will be a fun and brightly coloured day as the community comes together to celebrate. Kootenay Pride welcomes everyone to walk in the parade.

Prince George Pride Celebration

When: July 6 from 11 am to July 7 at 2 am
Where: Parade starts at 2nd Avenue & George Street / Festival at 4 Seasons Pool / Live performances & Dance at Civic Centre, 808 Canada Games Way, Prince George)
What to expect: The Parade & Festival are free family events. Live performances & dance starts at 10 pm (ticket purchase required)

South Okanagan Similkameen Pride Events

When: June 1–30
Where: Primarily in the Penticton area
What to expect: From a picnic to a floatie party on the Penticton River Channel, there’s a variety of all-ages events to enjoy throughout June.
