A BCAA Membership makes winter road trips snow much easier

I was driving to visit my family in Kimberly, BC. I took the northern route over the Coquihalla, through Shuswap and Revelstoke. With the time change and extreme winter conditions, the drive took longer than expected and I realized too late that I hadn’t planned my fuel stops carefully.

I was following a snowplow slowly south of Golden, when my car ran out of gas. Since the engine wouldn’t run, there was no heat, so I bundled up in my down coat, toque and gloves while I waited. I called BCAA Roadside Assistance and a driver came out to help. They refueled my car and had me back on the road quickly.

Thanks to BCAA, I was able to continue my trip and make it home without any further issues. It was also a good reminder of how important it is to carry an emergency kit and warm clothing when driving in the winter... you never know when you might need them!
