Flat out of luck? BCAA has got your back

This last weekend I was enjoying a motorbike trip with friends through the Kootenays, when a front flat tire suddenly occurred as I was slowly rolling through the little town of Greenwood, BC. I quickly rolled into a gas station as I realized what was happening on the bike, and then realized I would need help to service the tube type tire (not having tire spoons or bead breaking tools along with me).
It was late on a Friday afternoon and I very quickly found that there were no bike or mechanical shops in the area and was beginning to think I might be camped out in the extreme heat when a rider friend from the group (noting I was missing from the pack) phoned me and suggested I call BCAA to tow the bike. The best solution was to get to Keremeos where a mechanic friend has a garage and parts - and then BCAA made it happen! Not only that, but an operator phoned me right back after a few minutes of making the first call to advise that a tow truck was in the area and the operator could load me right away for Keremeos where he lived.
That truck operator was also very professional and really knew how to safely tie down a bike so that it wasn't damaged and didn't move on the deck at all. I believe angels were watching out for me as the flat happened when rolling slow rather than at higher speeds and curves, and the tow truck operator deserves credit but surely appreciate the professional help from BCAA who brought it all together for a customer in need.
