Turning a missed flight into smooth sailing

My partner and I planned ahead for our cruise vacation by arriving at our departure city a day early, just in case there were any travel disruptions.

As it turned out, that extra day proved to be a smart decision when our original flight was cancelled and rebooked for the following evening. While we were relieved not to miss our cruise, we were still faced with unexpected expenses, including a prepaid hotel stay we could no longer use.
