Evolve announced as new E-bike operator for North Vancouver

The following media release was issued by the City of North Vancouver:

North Vancouver, BC, June 27, 2025 – The City of North Vancouver and District of North Vancouver are welcoming BCAA’s Evolve as the new operator for the North Shore E-bike Share Program. Following a successful pilot program, the North Shore’s e-bike program will continue to offer a convenient and sustainable way for residents and visitors to hop on an electric bike and commute, run errands, and explore the North Shore.

BCAA was selected following a comprehensive RFP process to select the best fit for servicing the community and meeting the program’s objectives. The new fleet of e-bikes is set to launch by July 1.

“We’re excited to continue offering the e-bike share program on the North Shore— an initiative that’s helping more people choose active, sustainable ways to get around,” said Karyn Magnusson, Director of Engineering, Parks and Environment, City of North Vancouver. “With the added support e-bikes provide on North Vancouver’s hilly terrain, the program has made cycling more accessible for residents and visitors alike. We look forward to welcoming a new service provider and seeing even more riders take advantage of this growing option.”

“Evolve, as the operator of the North Shore E-bike Share Program, offers all of us an option to avoid adding more cars to the congested streets,” said Peter Cohen, General Manager of Engineering, District of North Vancouver. “Together with BCAA’s Evo Car Share, the North Shore has additional transportation options to car ownership for North Shore residents ready to make a change.”

“Our Evolve team is excited to provide locals and visitors with a convenient, safe, reliable and accessible way to move around, conquer hills, and make the most of the many local businesses, sights and nature throughout the communities” said Leanne Buhler, Head of Evolve E-Bike Share. “We’re delighted to continue BCAA, Evo and Evolve’s support for the forward-thinking leaders of the North Shore as they act to reduce reliance on private vehicles.”

E-bike locations, service areas, and booking information is available on the Evo app. More information about the North Shore E-Bike Share Program can be found online for CNV riders and for DNV riders.
