Burnaby, BC, September 10, 2025Evolve E-Bike Share will soon be available for residents and visitors in Saanich – offering a new way to get around town. Created by BCAA, Evolve E-Bikes will be available in key residential, commercial, and recreational hubs, expanding the options for flexible, affordable and accessible transport in Saanich.

Fifty Evolve e-bikes will be available to book from 24 stations across Saanich, including:

  • University & Residential Areas – Portions of the University of Victoria and surrounding neighborhoods to support student and faculty mobility.
  • Community & Service Centers – Including Tillicum Center and the Saanich Core’s central business district, providing access to essential services and commercial areas.
  • Major Landmarks & Parks – Centennial Stadium, Gorge Waterway Park, Swan Lake, and Christmas Hill to enhance connectivity to recreational destinations.
  • Primary Trail Networks – Aligning with key cycling and pedestrian routes to connect with existing infrastructure.

Evolve worked closely with the District of Saanich to create a safe, rider-friendly system to support responsible e-bike use. Operating alongside Evo Car Share to provide more mobility options in the region, riders are invited to sign up by downloading the Evo app, which is available on both Android and iOS devices. After signing up, riders can locate, unlock, and ride Evolve e-bikes using their smartphones.

“We’re thrilled to bring Evolve to Saanich,” says Leanne Buhler, head of Evolve E-Bike and E-Scooter Share. “We are looking forward to providing locals and visitors with convenient, reliable and active ways to move around town and get to local businesses, outdoor activities and key community locations.”

Evolve, operated by BCAA, is BC-based and built specifically for BC communities. Committed to keeping transportation jobs in the province, Evolve’s expansion into Saanich comes after recent expansions in Langford, Nanaimo and the Comox Valley, reflecting a growing demand for new, locally driven transportation options.
