How BCAA is making an impact

As a Member-based organization, our purpose at BCAA is to empower British Columbians to Move Forward. It drives us to make BC a better province, not only for our one million-plus Members and customers, but for everyone who lives here.

Our values are the core of our business, so we’re proud to share our 2025 BCAA Impact Report and highlights for the year providing an overview of our performance and achievements across key areas of impact in 2025 for BCAA.

Our Impact Report holds us accountable for doing the right thing for the province and its people, but it’s not just about what we do at BCAA. Because, together, BC is all of Ours to Protect.

Ours To Protect

“We found a simple and effective way to talk about BCAA’s our corporate purpose and all the ways we make an impact. We call it Ours to Protect. It’s really a rallying cry – a way that we'll encourage more people to learn about all the good that we do and to be proud to join us. To protect the place we all call home, creating a better tomorrow for us all. To understand that we all play a part. That together, our province and its people are all of ours to protect. “

Eric Hopkins, BCAA CEO

Our research shows that over 90% of people in BC believe that wildfires are one of the most significant issues facing our province, so our award-winning and internationally recognized Defending Against Wildfires program remained a major focus for BCAA in 2025 and onward. We are working alongside partners like FireSmart BC and the Canadian Mental Health Association BC to build a stronger, more resilient province via prevention, preparedness, support and recovery, and we’re also partnering with veritree to support post-wildfire restoration through reforestation.

Our people

BCAA has always been built on the power of people coming together for a shared purpose grounded in protection. That’s why, we measure success not only by what we do to protect our Members and customers, but also by the impact we make in our communities. None of this would be possible without the commitment and dedication of our BCAA Members, customers, British Columbians and our team members.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are part of BCAA’s fabric, shaping how we work and how we show up for each other. In 2025 we continued to enhance initiatives that are helping our team members feel safe and valued, no matter who they are, and the steps we've taken to advance inclusion in the workplace.

Through our BCAA Gives Back program, we encourage team members to give back to the causes that matter most to them. In 2025, 28% of team members volunteered a total of 3,295 hours, and 47% participated in workplace giving, donating a total of $96,407 to charities across BC. Together, their generosity continues to strengthen communities across the province.

Our planet

Our goals stretch even further than borders of our province. We always look for ways to improve our impact on the world around us – both through enhancing our products and services and how we operate our business.

We are working on new climate goals to help reduce our impact on the planet. We live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth and we all share the responsibility to keep it that way. That’s why we’re exploring new ways to serve our Members while reducing our impact, including adding electric vehicles in to the BCAA Road Assist and Evo Car Share fleets.

Our prosperity

For us, success is the prosperity that BCAA’s financial stability creates for people and the province. By protecting our communities, and supporting innovation, we're building a more prosperous province for all who live here.

This year we celebrated Evo’s (created by BCAA) 10th anniversary, marking a decade of redefining shared mobility in BC. We also launched two new platforms that expand how we support our Members and communities. BCAA Connect, a trusted online community forum where Members and customers can interact, share information, exchange ideas, and connect with one another. And with BCAA Task Marketplace, British Columbians can find and offer basic home and outdoor services, from cleaning and small repairs to moving and yard work, helping people get things done while supporting local service providers and small businesses.
