Reimbursement for Road Trip Interruption Benefit

BCAA Members may apply for reimbursement of accommodation, meals and transportation expenses for eligible cases of the Road Trip Interruption benefit. Reimbursement will be provided for up to three days worth of eligible expenses - up to a maximum total reimbursement of $600 for Premier Members and $300 for Plus Members, to be applied at BCAA's sole discretion.

Reimbursement considerations:

  • Individuals who have been Plus or Premier Members for more than one year are entitled to reimbursement.
  • Your repair receipts and invoices must be included in the Member’s name and indicate the following:
  • Your car broke down more than 160 kilometers away from your home address on file and was disabled overnight.
  • Expenses occurred within 72 hours of incident.
  • Your vehicle was not involved in an accident resulting in an insurance claim.
  • Any other applicable receipts and invoices, such as accommodation, meals and transportation expenses, must be provided in the Member’s name.
  • Products and services that are not eligible for reimbursement include, but are not limited to, car rental drop off fees, insurance, alcohol, tobacco, gratuities, toiletries, car repairs. 
  • Maximum allowances per day include up to $150 on accommodations, $50 on transportation, and $50 on meals.
  • Limited to one reimbursement per Membership household per year.

Important: Sending your receipts and invoices via email is preferable in order to quickly process your reimbursement. If you would rather mail in your receipts and invoices to BCAA 5590 Goring Street, Burnaby, BC V5B 3A3, Attention: Reimbursement for Road Trip Interruption Benefit, please be advised it may take several more weeks in order receive your reimbursement through this method.
