Celebrating Pride

At BCAA, we believe in the power of community, and that together we can create a more vibrant, inclusive and connected province for everyone. 

That's why BCAA and Evo partner with with local Pride societies to and convey our support for 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, in support of freedom, dignity and equality for all. We’ve partnered with the Vancouver Pride Society since 2017, proudly joining the Vancouver Pride Parade each year alongside Evo. From supporting performers to engaging parade‑goers, our team members, and their friends and families, have come together to celebrate love, diversity and inclusion across our community.

Throughout Pride season, we run a giving opportunity for our team members, BCAA Members and customers to raise funds together for organizations supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. This year, we supported Rainbow Refugee Society, QMUNITY and Sher Pride in their impactful work.

Advancing Inclusion

As an organization, we take active steps to advance 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion including incorporating personal pronouns into name tags and email signatures for those who choose to self-identify. BCAA provides a resource toolkit that helps team members learn more about personal pronouns, gender identity and expression, inclusive language and more. We offer coverage for adoption expenses, as well as fertility services and fertility drug support. In addition, we offer inclusive leave and benefits that support team members through significant life and health transitions.

Space for Diverse Voices

At BCAA, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) help create a workplace where team members can connect, feel supported and learn from one another. These employee-led communities bring together members, advocates and allies around shared experiences and interests offering space for conversations, peer support and meaningful connection. BCAA has four ERGs: Mental Health & Wellness, Women@Work, Diversability, Friends and 2SLGBTQIA+.  

Our 2SLGBTQIA+ ERG is a welcoming space for members and allies of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities to connect, share experiences and support one another. The group exists to foster a workplace culture where all individuals – regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression – feel seen, heard and supported, and where allies have opportunities for meaningful advocacy.   

 The 2SLGBTQIA+ ERG regularly hosts guest speakers, community voices and facilitated discussions that highlight diverse voices and lived experiences and inspire compassion, awareness and collective growth. 

Through storytelling, education and empathy-building, the 2SLGBTQIA+ERG aims to increase visibility, challenge biases and cultivate allyship across BCAA. Together, we’re creating a safe and inclusive space for open dialogue, where team members can ask questions, share experiences and learn about the diverse identities and lived realities within 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
