Insurance for Homes in a Shared Strata

Small Strata Insurance you can count on.

BCAA Residential Strata Insurance helps protect your building, common property and common contents, and includes liability coverage for incidents the strata is found responsible for. If there’s an event like a burst pipe in the entranceway, a fire that spreads between units, or a guest injured on an outside pathway — when something goes wrong in a multi-unit building, it's the strata corporation that's on the hook.

We protect building owners of small stratas, such as a duplex, a triplex, or any strata with no more than four living units. If your strata insurance is in place and you're looking to insure your unit, not the building, you'll need Condo Insurance.

Is my unit protected with Residential Strata Insurance?

Condo and Residential Strata Insurance are made to complement each other. Residential Strata Insurance is designed for the strata corporation of the multi-unit building while Condo Insurance is for owners of individual units.

It’s strongly encouraged to purchase insurance for your unit, in addition to your strata’s policy, as it protects you from things like unexpected damage to personal property and unit upgrades, personal liability, strata assessment coverages and more.
